Write for Doctor Earth
We take guest essays that could sit beside the staff book without anyone needing to lower their voice.
Pitch a piece that belongs in one of the six departments: The Land, The Water, Fire Season, Wild Neighbours, The House or Civic Practice. Read the archive before you write. If your paragraph could live on any sustainability blog in any country, it does not live here.
What to send
- A working title and 150-word standfirst.
- The department and why the piece is timely in Australia.
- A 1,200–2,400 word draft, or a detailed outline with sources.
- Your bio, conflicts of interest, and any paid relationship.
House rules
- Australian English. Metres, tonnes, summer in December.
- Original work. We do not reprint press copy or spun listicles.
- Name your sources. Link primary documents where you can.
- No medical advice dressed up as metaphor. We are not a clinic.
- Images must be public domain or Creative Commons, with credit.
Sponsored and guest links
If an essay is paid for, or if it carries a promotional outbound link, we label it as a guest post and mark the link rel="sponsored". That is not optional. See an example in Circular habits that survive January. Buying a quiet dofollow is not a service we offer.
How to pitch
Use the contact form with the subject line “Guest pitch:” or write to support@worldwidebacklinks.com. We reply when the piece is a fit. Silence is not a maybe.
Questions readers send
Do you pay for guest essays?
Occasionally, for commissioned work. Unsolicited essays are unpublished until we agree terms in writing.
Can I include a link to my business?
One relevant link may be accepted. It will carry rel="sponsored" and will not be sold as a secret ranking trick.
Will you rewrite my press release?
No. Send reporting, not a brochure.
